We aim to answer within two business days. It helps enormously if you say which device and iOS version you're on, which machine you were playing, and — if the game did something it shouldn't have — what you were doing just before it happened.

I bought The Back Room and the machines are still locked

Open Settings in the game and tap Restore purchases. This asks the App Store directly, is free, and needs no receipt or proof of purchase — Apple already has the record. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with; a purchase belongs to an account, not to a device.

If the purchase was made by someone else in your family, they need Family Sharing turned on for it in their own App Store settings before it reaches you.

I want a refund

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — we can't issue one and can't see your payment details. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase. If Apple approves it, the unlocked machines lock again the next time the game checks.

The leaderboards are empty or missing

Leaderboards need Game Center. If you're signed out, the game hides them entirely rather than showing a button that can't work — so a missing LEADERBOARD button on the title screen means "signed out", not "broken". Sign in under Settings → Game Center on your device and reopen the game.

Scores post when a run ends. A dropped score costs nothing and the next finished run posts again, so if one run seems to have gone missing, play another.

Watching other players' runs

The WATCH button on a leaderboard row appears only when that player's run was uploaded, which needs iCloud on both ends. Rows without it are ordinary — nobody did anything wrong. Check that iCloud Drive is on for Stacker under Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

The game is too fast

In Settings, Assist speed slows the whole machine down as far as you like. One honest catch: an assisted run can't spend your Daily attempt or post a score, because it isn't the same puzzle everyone else played. The game says so on the button before you start.

The Daily changed in the middle of my day

The Daily rolls over at midnight UTC, not at your local midnight, so that everybody on the planet is playing the same cabinet at the same time. Where you live, that may land in the middle of the afternoon. It's deliberate — a local-time Daily would rank people on different puzzles against each other.

The music

The soundtrack mixes over whatever you already had playing rather than stopping it. To silence it, slide Music to zero in Settings; the slider is independent of sound effects.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. Scores held by Game Center and replays held in iCloud are covered in the Privacy Policy, which lists exactly what exists and how to remove each piece. You can also email us and we'll delete the records tied to your leaderboard entries.

Reporting a bug

Please do. Runs in this game are reproducible from a seed, which means a clear description of what happened is often enough for us to replay the exact run and see it ourselves. Screenshots and screen recordings are welcome.
